Are you a rental company?
No. Local independent operators own the cars. We vet them, take your booking, hold your deposit, and referee if anything is disputed — with skin in the game to be fair to both sides.
What happens to my deposit?
Your excess is held by Selo as a card pre-authorisation — never charged. After a clean return it’s released within an hour. If damage is claimed, it’s decided on the sealed check-in evidence, not the operator’s say-so.
Where will Selo launch?
First destinations are in southern Portugal and Spain, built for travellers from Ireland and the UK. Waitlist members get first access.
What does the check-in involve?
A guided photo walkaround in the app at pickup — about 2 minutes. You and the operator both sign it, then it’s digitally sealed. At drop-off, the same walkaround proves the car came back clean.
